It’s here: more flexibility with custom style for your brand! Check out how to leverage Custom Style Sets below, and also get a quick update on more granular user privileges in Portal.

Custom Style Sets

You’re likely already familiar with the ability to set character limitations per channel. The addition of Custom Style Sets now allows you to configure different character limitations for different types of campaigns or placements within the same channel.

Custom Style Sets give you:

  • Enhanced Customization: Adapt style guidelines to suit different campaigns or content types.

  • Greater Flexibility: Easily switch between Style Sets based on your communication requirements.

  • Maintained Consistency: Uphold brand standards across various channels and touchpoints.

Here’s how to configure Style Sets.

  1. Navigate to ‘Brand Management,’ where you’ll see a new ‘Custom Styles’ option. Click ‘Create New’ to configure a Style Set.

  2. You’ll be prompted to select which channels the new set applies to. When you’re done, click ‘Create.’ Only the channels that have been configured to be available for “self service” for the specific account will show up in the pop up.

  3. Now, you’ll configure character limits for the channels you’ve selected as usual by either sliding the toggle or entering the exact character limit in the text box. These changes will be saved automatically to the Style Set and can be revised (or deleted) at any time.

  4. Once you’ve created a Custom Style Set, you can use it during content generation to enforce the specific character limits. You’ll see a new field for ‘Style Set’ where you can select any previously defined styles for your campaign from the dropdown menu.

If there are no Custom Style Sets defined for the specific channel, then ‘Default’ will be selected. ‘Default’ is the generic character limits that are set at the channel level under ‘Brand Management.’

In the future, we’ll be adding even more flexibility to Style Sets, such as formatting, casing, emoji usage, and more. Stay tuned!

Best Practices for Creating and Applying Style Sets

Custom Style Sets empower you to tailor content for specific use cases, offering the flexibility to adapt various types of communication within the same channel. This new capability ensures your messaging aligns with any and all unique campaign goals and guidelines.

Use these Custom Style Sets to create content for specific use-cases within a channel. For example:

  • Specify character limits for a Black Friday Web Banner without changing the overall channel standards for Web Banners.

  • For full email, create a "Newsletters" Style Set that permits longer CTAs than standard communications.

  • Create a Custom Style Set for service or transactional communications sent via SMS.

  • For web pages, use a Custom Style Set for a small web module that has strict length restrictions.

More style options are coming soon to further enhance your ability to create targeted content!

User Privileges

We’re now introducing more granular user privileges that allow us to limit who is able to edit the options under ‘Brand Management’ and ‘Segments.’ This means that we can set up specific users to be able to edit character limitations, Custom Style Sets, and segments, giving your team more control over who can and cannot adjust these settings.

Users granted these permissions will be designated as ‘Brand Settings Managers’ as shown below. Anyone without these permissions will still be able to view all brand settings and have full access to generating and improving content as usual.

This action can be performed only by Persado users. If you want to add this granularity level of user permissions to your team, please contact your Persado representative or reach out via the support chat for your desired configuration to be applied.
