Once you’ve submitted a project, you’ll receive a detailed Compliance analysis flagging risk observations, and scoring the risk of the project. Alongside the compliance risk score, you'll be able to see the project's alignment to brand voice and predicted performance in market, which together can help you make holistic editorial decisions.

This article will define each score and provides best practices on considering these scores as you review an analysis.

Scoring Details

Compliance Risk Score

A 0 to 100 temperature-style risk rating based on the severity, theme, and amount of compliance issues in your content.

To learn more about compliance themes from most to least severe, check out our comprehensive guide.

The fewer the issues, the lower the risk level!

Your threshold for risk is up to you and your Compliance team. When in doubt, we recommend aiming for a score of 15 or below—but the context on the types of remaining compliance issues matters.

Performance Prediction Score

A 1 (lowest) to 100 (highest) score indicating how well content is predicted to perform based on Persado’s 10 years of engagement data.

The higher the score, the more likely your copy is to outperform other messages in the Financial Services industry!

As you run content for analysis, note your baseline Performance Prediction Score and aim to improve from there. When in doubt, aiming for a score of 50 or above is a good place to start.

Brand Alignment Score

A 1 (lowest score) to 5 (highest score) scale rating of how well content aligns with the model’s understanding of your brand.

The higher the score, the more likely your message is on brand!

We recommend aiming for a score of 3 or above. If you see scores of 1 or 2, you may want to check out your copy and make any necessary adjustments to ensure it aligns with your brand voice prior to deployment.

Best Practices for Use

Ultimately, how you use these scores is up to you! Think of each score as a different information point you can use to evaluate your content; they’re intended to meet your needs. Here are some best practices to keep in mind:

  • Note baseline scores and aim to improve: We want to see the scores that matter to you improve! That means lower compliance risk, higher predicted performance, and a strong alignment to your brand.

    • Don’t worry about achieving “perfect” scores; it’s extremely rare that you’ll score this way across the board. Instead, consider the priorities for each particular campaign, and monitor the relevant score(s) closely. (After all, these scores are highly dependent on the individual creative!)

    • Pro tip: When you use a recommended revision from Persado, your scores will adjust automatically so you can see the impact.

  • Align with your team on Compliance Risk priorities and thresholds: Every team’s tolerance for risk is different, and this score is simply a guide to calculate, at a glance, how close the creative is to being compliant. While ideally content would have zero compliance risks, this is often challenging in practice, so keep a pulse on your team’s own needs. Your compliance team should be able to weigh in on the risks to monitor closely—not just the score. Context matters!

  • If content is predicted to perform well, but has a low Brand Alignment score, this might be a queue to try something new: It can be beneficial to try out messaging in market that is slightly different for your brand. Consider consulting with your internal team as to whether or not to try something new to validate its performance.
